You’ve probably heard of the blind seer Tiresias. He played an important role in myth. However, his story didn’t end with the myths. I’ve incorporated him into my own writings. <\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

I made him a sort of zombie Tiresias. I gave him seer stones for eyes that were dispersed through the Everlands. My heroes must find his two eyes and unite them with his corpse if they wish to succeed.<\/p>\n

Here’s a snippet from the book:<\/p>\n

Ian spoke up. \u201cI hate to ruin the family reunion, but I\u2019d like to know what happened to Tiresias\u2019s corpse.\u201d
\n \u201cLost it,\u201d Mr. Rainwater answered.
\n Ian narrowed his eyes.
\n \u201cWell, don\u2019t look at me like that, boy.\u201d
\n \u201cI warned you,\u201d Ian said. \u201cYou shouldn\u2019t have gone. Now the queen is closer to finding the Ever King.\u201d
\n \u201cNot if we find his eyes first.\u201d
\n \u201cEyes?\u201d Lily asked, confused.
\n \u201cTiresias\u2019s eyes,\u201d Ian said as if that explained it.
\n \u201cHold on. Wasn\u2019t Tiresias that blind seer from Greek times or something?\u201d
\n \u201cYes,\u201d Dr. Vander answered. \u201cHe was the blind prophet of Thebes.\u201d
\n \u201cAnd you\u2019re trying to find his corpse?\u201d she asked.
\n \u201cThey found it,\u201d Ian put in. \u201cAnd lost it.\u201d
\n \u201cAye, but that\u2019s not important. It\u2019s his eyes we\u2019re after,\u201d Mr. Rainwater said.
\n \u201cThe eyes won\u2019t do any good without the corpse,\u201d Ian said.
\n \u201cBut why do you need a corpse? Or . . . eyes?” Lily asked. “You know this all sounds very strange.\u201d
\n Dr. Vander turned to her. \u201cAfter Tiresias\u2019s first death, he was reborn as an immortal. He followed the old gods to the Everlands. For a time, he coexisted with them. When Tiresias foresaw the destruction of Hades, Hades dismembered him. Tiresias\u2019s eyes, in actuality, were seer stones. Hades separated his eyes from his body, ensuring he never saw any more visions. The stones were powerful. Zeus knew it. To protect them, Zeus stole the stones, then hid them in the Everlands.\u201d
\n \u201cAnd now you\u2019re trying to find them?\u201d she asked.
\n \u201cThey think Tiresias will show them where the Ever King is,\u201d Ian answered.<\/p>\n
